Telling the Story of Place using Mixed Reality (HoloLens)

12:30 PM—12:55 PM | Room 404

In August 2016 Studio 216, in partnership with Skanska and Microsoft HoloLens will open the first holographic sales center in the world in downtown Seattle. A full immersive HoloLens experience has been created to walk prospective tenants through 2+U, a future high rise that will occupy a full city block across the street from the Seattle Art Museum. This presentation will discuss the process of using mixed reality (MR) to tell a ‘story of place’ while connecting users to the storyteller leading them through the process and outline the differences between virtual reality and mixed reality experiences.
